Detroit Rug Restoration
Shot for Recipe for Press in 2017, on behalf of Detroit Rug Restoration.
Angela and Edmond Hagopian introduced a new division of their grandfather’s 80-year-old company, founded in 1939, to emphasize the art of preserving handwoven and hand-knotted rugs. They offer specialty handwork, like reweaving, fringe replacement, color restoration and resizing to breathing new life into heirloom pieces.
I also got to develop a series for DRR/RFP that showed crossovers between traditional rug trends, patterns and colors with runway fashion.
Many thanks to Lisa, Camille and Katy for modeling; Taylor and Georgia for their space; and Amy for believing in a vision – even when it looked like being new to things. This was a year of only being new at things!
